Taking part in the annual Sarakatsanean meeting in Pertouli today, ND president Antonis Samaras stressed the need for a different financial policy, one that is not based on excessive taxation.
There he met with the Mayor of Pili and told him that there is a better tomorrow for the country as long as there is a change of policy.
“There is a better tomorrow. The hardest thing that I come across in Greece today is the gloominess, the sense of depression, which is not in line with the Greek character. This must be reversed, and you can give hope only when you have specific and serious data of a different policy, which at the same time recognizes the magnitude of the problem”.
Samaras also referred to his meetings in Europe, stressing that he described the reality, “which as an economy for example, will not be able to survive in an over-taxed country, in a narrow market, at a period when financial activity has reached zero. You just can’t ask for more taxes in such an enormous depression, because even if you do, you won’t be able to find them. Taxes are killing taxes”, he distinctively added.
