Voting for it but not really backing it

Ms Vaso Papandreou declared she would be voting for the new 2011 budget but she stated that in her opinion it is a problematic budget as was 2010’s.  

The former Minister continued by saying all her comments are aimed at helping resolve the crisis and sometimes she thinks that a constructive no is better than a forced yes. She described with bleak colours the way out of the memorandum, highlighting that even with the prolongation of the debt there is a slim chance of paying it. A new loan would only benefit our loaners.

She calculated that “the only solution would be to bargain harder in order for the country to go into an orbit of growth and development”. She also referred to the harsh and unfair measures that have made the life of millions of Greeks a misery, specifying that “we are not a parliament of angels, to ask the Greek people to make sacrifices and for us to make no changes”.
