New arrangements for illegal construction after the unsuccessful settlement

 

This is because the latest figures of the Technical Chamber of Greece are disappointing, showing that until February 20, 17 months after the enforcement of Law 4014/2011 for arbitraries, revenue from the fee and special fine payment amount only to 785 million euros. The government anticipated a revenue of about 2 billion euros, according to the Vima newspaper.

 

The new arrangements will provide for the creation of a "building identity " as was the case in Birbili’s law for settlement of semi-open spaces (3843/2010). There, people will be able to declare arranged illegal construction with minor offenses in order to legalize them,  as well as those already settled under Law 3843/2010 or 4014/2011 (minor violations).

 

This January the number of submitted applications reached 18,000, and from February 1st-20th only 9,000.

 

Up to 20 February, of the 496,806 arbitrary constructions set in the regulation, 169,639 applications are being currently processed, 150,531 applications are in provisional inclusion (having paid the first installment), while 115,849 applications have already been completed. 60,778 applications are at the initial stage (having submitted the documentation and paid the fee) and 331,269 certificates of transfer have also been issued.
