“The scenarios of the country’s exit from the euro are imaginary!”, stated Prime Minister George Papandreou to the Parliamentary Group unequivocally. The group’s meeting is taking place in a heavy atmosphere due to the dramatic economic developments.

He urged members of parliament to give a definitive answer to all those that challenge and taunt the country. “We have to give a crushing reply to all those that either secretly or openly wish for the country’s bankruptcy, to deny all hidden or obvious scenarios”, he stated.

The PM sent a clear message to his party members to support the measures, adding that “The people gave us a mandate to get out of the crisis, to pull the country out of its adventure, which we did not put it in, in the first place”.

“We do not make any compromises, we do not pay attention to the political costs”, added George Papandreou, stating that the task of saving the country is superior to each individual’s Parliament seat.
