Speaking to the German Press Agency, Eurogroup chairman and Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Junckerappeared optimistic that action will be taken soon for the release of the next loan tranche to Greece, claiming that the new package of austerity measures approved by the Greek parliament is "proof of courage."
These measures "are very impressive and basically conform to what we expected. Greece is working to fulfill its duties and I have no doubt that the other 16 Eurozone governments will quickly meet their commitments to Greece in return," Juncker said.
But Juncker also expressed his discomfort that the Troika report, which is a prerequisite for the decision of the ministers, has not been yet finalized. He promised "accelerated" action towards a decision when "all data" becomes available.
