Unity government scheme gets extension?

According to sources, Greece’s lenders are making an effort to postpone election time for at least another year. The same sources say that the German government is proposing later polls, wishing to have them arranged for 2013, based on the fact that this is how Greece can achieve the political stability necessary for realizing the conditions of the deal and the structural changes the Troika is asking for.

However,  a different side suggests that George Papandreou and Yiorgos Karatzaferis are trying to convince ND president Antonis Samaras to agree on the coalition government scheme extension. PASOK members are afraid of the public’s reaction and people’s ire, stressing that if we go to early polls, during their pre-election campaigns they will be the recipients of social rage and PASOK will be the only culprit.

ND members are keeping a distance from all rumours heard and making no comments regarding the aforementioned scenario of a government of longer duration.
