UPD:
The government’s design for the shaping of the medium-term stability program of the Greek economy and its promotion in Parliament has entered its most critical phase.
Prime Minister George Papandreou held a broad government meeting in the House to consider all relevant aspects of the program and to discuss the measures which will be used to find revenue, but will also further reduce government expenditure.
Reportedly, there are strong disagerements between ministers over who will contribute more to this plan with cuts to ministry budgets. The climate, which shows the relationship between various ministries with the Finance Ministry, is heavy and thus the pressure for cuts is intense.
As announced, the plan will be presented to the House and filed by May 15th in order for it to be voted on by early June and certainly before the EU summit.
But it is not yet fully ascertained whether other provisions will be included, such as medium-term plans for privatization, while many people associate the plan with negotiations with the Troika at this time in order to regulate the total country debt.
