Tensions rise once more during protests
Order has been restored in the Athens city center, as the last outbreaks in Exarchia have been quelled, following the march of GSEE and ADEDY. All roads have once again been opened.

In the area of Exarchia, at noon on Wednesday, tear gas was used after the marches of GSEE and ADEDY. Groups of young people caused damage to parked cars, while some fled inside the University.

The attacks began shortly before 2 pm on Wednesday, while the protests were still ongoing.

Originally, minor clashes took place between demonstrators and riot police in front of the Grande Bretagne hotel. Afterwards, the demonstrations and episodes moved to Panepistimiou Street, where protesters assaulted riot police with Molotov cocktails, while the latter responded with arrests and tear gas.

Moreover, both marches, GSEE-ADEDY's and PAME’s, had great numbers of participants.
