Finos Film's invaluable treasures now available for all on the web

"Finos's whole life was the cinema, the actors who worked with him, his technicians, his staff". Those were the words that Aliki Vougiouklaki used to describe Filopimin Finos, the founder of the legendary company Finos Film, which was identified with the golden age of the Greek cinema. The quotes of Aliki, Finos favorite actress and of other great artists such as Manos Katrakis, Dimitris Horn, Jenny Karezi and Dimitris Papamichael, have been posted on the new website of Finos Film (www.finosfilm.com), which reveals all the secrets of the legendary film company.



The new website includes rare pictures from the first film of the company "The Drunkard" with Orestis Makris (1950), the "Voice of the Heart" with the young Lambros Konstantaras (1943) and photos from the most popular films of the 60s, handwritten letters from the stars of this decade addressed to Finos and also their biographies.

 In the photos we can see Jenny Karezi in the arms of Kostas Kazakos while filming "Love and Blood", Aliki Vougiouklaki holding her little son John, Manos Katrakis kissing the hand of Zoi Laskari and Dionysis Papagiannopoulos fighting with Nikos Kourkoulos in "Lola" by Dinos Dimopoulos.



 The only thing missing from the digital library are the films themselves. As Finos Film explained in an official announcement “the streaming of the films or video extracts via Finos Film's site is not feasible at the moment". Keep in mind that, only last year, Finos Film was forced to remove all the films from the company's digital channel in YouTube because, according to an announcement – they were faced with "unreasonable financial demands " by the Organization of the Collective Management of Copyright and Related Rights.



 The new site of the legendary company includes detailed data on 187 films, 3000 rare photographs and over 200 biographies of important professionals, which were the "soul" of the company. The project of the research, collection and processing of this rare material started 2 years ago with the aim to offer the public a digital archive that honors both the founder of Finos Film, Filopimin Finos, and all the artists who worked with him.
