Tsipras: "They are searching for a Leftist Karatzaferis to continue with the memorandum"

Mr. Alexis Tsipras expressed his assessment that “the two Memorandum parties” are in search of a Leftist Karatzaferis "in order for them to continue what the people condemned”.

It should be noted that during the last few hours there have been scenarios emerging according to which Mr. Fotis Kouvelis is being pressured to join a coalition government with New Democracy and PASOK, despite categorical denials by the president of the Democratic Left.

In addition, in statements he gave right after returning the exploratory mandate to the President of the Republic, Mr. Tsipras explained that he “exhausted every possibility of forming a government with a program framework and with objectives consistent with the popular will. It turned out that the two memorandum parties are unwilling to support a government who, as a minimum goal, would have the replacement of austerity measures” while he added that “We will not cancel out the hopes of the people. We will fight until the bitter end to form a government in harmony with popular will”.
