10 to 18% increase in heating oil in just two months!

While the international prices are raised by 6,5% in the same period

It seems that the good god of Greece came short in his powers at the worst possible moment and after two great months, from mid October onwards, the mild weather came to an end in a period when the heating oil prices are soaring.

It’s worth noting that while heating fuel debuted in the market in mid October at 67 cents/l in Attica, since last Saturday selling prices start from 74 cents and even reach 79 cents/l.  

This is a 10 to 18% increase in less than two months and the General Secreteriat of Commerce of the ministry of Regional Development and Competitiveness has stated that the raise on the oil refinery prices, due to the international changes, was about 6 cents /l while the consumers received about 3 cents.

However, even if this was the case for a certain period, from October 15 until today, the oil refineries prices based on international rates are increased by approximately 6,5 %.

This means that the oil market hawks are taking advantage of the customers’ needs and trying to make up for their loss due to the good weather so until now.

So buyers beware and do your research first…
