Papariga: We fought the hardest battle of the last 40 years

Commenting on the election outcome, KKE general secretary Aleka Papariga analyzed its four negative aspects. According to her, the increase in ND rates that came first does not mean that an anti-popular party will change. "The worst is ahead and not behind us, just as Samaras said. The government, which as it seems will have its main body coming from ND, will complicate things even more instead of solving them."

As a second negative element she mentioned the increased SYRIZA rates as compared to the May 6 elections. According to Papariga, this increase is due to the fact that SYRIZA "put water in its wine" by changing its original positions.

Thirdly, "the undisputed heavy losses of the Communist Party confirmed that we expected this to be the most difficult and complex election battle of the party in the last 40 years. ND wreaks terror and SYRIZA spreads illusions. The positions of the Communist Party will be judged in the future."

Lastly, "the votes and the percentage of Golden Dawn are alarming. The Communist Party told the truth to the people in this critical phase. KKE will remain upright despite its decreased number of seats and will support the people in every difficult battle. Along the way the people will remember our positions, especially when Greece is engaged in war after the U.S. elections," Papariga said.
