And the name is… Democratic Alliance

«Democratic Alliance» is the name of the new political party of Dora Bakogiannis. Its emblem is an olive tree, alluding to the slogan «Olive, olive, and Dora as the king», while at the same time she insisted on calling it a «movement» and not a party.

During her inaugural speech, Dora Bakogianni attacked the current system of political corruption, of which she was a representative, while she spoke of meritocracy, justice and truth, three words that, as she added, describe her party.

In order for the point to be clearly made, plaques were given to the attendees (Markogiannakis and Mavrikis were among them), with these words, while the ex minister was trying to deconstruct the «myths» of politics, saying that she too had made mistakes.

Ms Bakogianni played the «losing hand» (defeat at intraparty elections), of the woman and patriot and during a break in her speech she started greeting the youth and student representatives, immediately continuing with a fierce attack against PASOK and also the president of the New Democracy party, Antonis Samaras.

Among other things, Ms Bakogianni called the governmental party «erratic» and accused it of making «ridiculous mistakes» while pointing clearly against Mr. Samaras she stressed that «those who demagogue are dangerous for the people» calling him also an «extreme populist».

As for the Memorandum, she said she supported it, because otherwise many people would have lost their jobs. She also often addressed the issue of the obviation of permanence in the public sector, referring to it as one of her party’s principles.

It is worth noting that both her entrance and exit were musically accompanied by the famous Queen song «We will rock you».
