Unsettled weather over the weekend

Improved weather in the Peloponnese, in Western and Central Greece and unsettled weather with showers and thunderstorms in the rest of the country is expected on Saturday May 19th, 2012. The phenomena in Thrace may locally be intense.

Temperatures will vary between 9 and 26C in Northern Greece, from 12 to 25 in Central and Southern Greece, 11 to 26C in western Greece and 13 to 23C in the Aegean isles and Crete.

Almost moderate to strong northerly winds in the Aegean, while weak northwesterlies will be prevalent in the Ionian.

Increased cloudfall with local rains especially in the northern parts of Attica on Saturday. Temperatures will reach 23C. North-northwesterly mild winds in the Saronic and south Euboic gulf.

Sunshine with partial clouds which will turn to rains and storms expected in Thessaloniki. Temperatures will reach 25C. Thermaikos gulf winds expected to be northwesterly.

Sunday:

Central-eastern Macedonia, Thrace, eastern Aegean isles and the Dodecanese will witness slight rainfall and clouds. In the rest of the country the weather will be mild with clouds and showers in the afternoon hours. Winds will be westerly, between 3-4B and 5B in the southeast. Temperatures will rise.
