According to the first post-election poll by Marc, in a nationwide sample of 1,021 households in the 8-9 May period, SYRIZA appears to receive 27%. ND shows a marginal increase at 20%, while PASOK is in free fall, fighting with the Independent Greeks for third place.

Specifically: When asked "if you had known in advance the results, would you have voted for another party?", 2 out of ten voters gave a positive response, with the highest rates occurring in those who reported that on May 6 they voted for the Communist Party and Golden Dawn.

94.6% of those who voted for SYRIZA confirm that they will vote again with minor losses of 1.5% going to PASOK, 1% to ND and 2.4% still undecided. The corresponding percentage for ND is 92.9 (1.8% loss to SYRIZA, 4.1% undecided), PASOK 88.5% (1.8% loss to ND, 4.4% to SYRIZA), Independent Greeks 86.6% (4.9% loss to ND, 8.5% to SYRIZA), Democratic Left 83.9 (8.9% loss to SYRIZA, 3.6% to PASOK), 24% of Communist Party and Golden Dawn voters say they will vote differently and 20.8% of those who supported parties which did not reach the parliament will change. 18% of those who voted for the Communist Party says in the next elections they will support SYRIZA, which receives another 16% of those who voted for Golden Dawn.

62.7% says that the election results point to a coalition government, a view shared by the majority of voters of all parties and almost 46% of supporters of the Communist Party. 53.2% of SYRIZA voters support the idea of a coalition government, while the corresponding percentage for ND is 62.5%, PASOK 78.8%, Independent Greeks 64.6%, KKE 46%, Golden Dawn 60% and Democratic Left 83.9%.

But what is the form of government that the voters would prefer? Ecumenical says 30.4%, a view shared by 40% of Golden Dawn and 16.7% of SYRIZA voters.

A Leftist government with SYRIZA and the Democratic Left and the tolerance of the other party says 28.1%, an idea supported by 60.6% of those who voted for SYRIZA, 46% from the Communist Party, 32.1% for the Democratic Left and just 4.8% and 8.8% of those who voted for New Democracy and PASOK respectively.

An ND, PASOK, SYRIZA and Democratic Left government, says 24.7%. This view is supported by 38.1% of ND voters, 49.6% of PASOK voters, 13.3% of SYRIZA and 17.7% of the Democratic Left.
