Pagalos blamed SYRIZA for the yoghurt throwing in Kalivia
The vice president of the government, Thodoros Pagalos, continues the episode with the Keratea residents that took place on Wednesday night outside a taverna in Kalivia.

His full statement is as follows:
«Last night (16/3/2011), like every year, Thodoros Pagalos invited 11 MPs of PASOK to eat and talk in a tavern of his electoral district at a central spot at Kalivia.

The opportunity was seized by the known mechanisms of SYRIZA, which promote the strategy of attacks against ministers and congressmen of the ruling party, in order to create a climate of civil war. As their gathering in the blockade of Keratea, where they intended to attack the police, was so thin that did not allowed them to achieve their goal there, they rushed to move about 50 people to Kalivia, where things were much easier for them.

They did gather outside the taverna, where for more than two hours they kept swearing and making obscene gestures at the PASOK MPs, and especially at the vice president and his wife who was attending a council meeting at the nearby City Hall and came when she was informed of the incidents.

Since Mr. Tsipras is aggressively requesting names trying to create confusion, this time we will mention the protagonists so they won’t have to quarrel on various blogs about who was the bigger «folk fighter». Organizers of these, as well as all previous bullying events at the blocks at Keratea, are the SYRIZA member Meletis Pogas and the former Keratea Mayor Stavros Iatrou.

Despite the insults and vulgarities, the Vice President came out thrice, to try to talk with those who were willing. All three times the SYRIZA members, who directed the entire “operation”, interrupted the debate with organized movements, insults and threats. When all this did not affect the vice president, they made use of the «arsenal» they had brought with them. Besides the classic yoghurts, this time they took a step towards a more violent practice. A SYRIZA bully threw a broken chair at Pagalos, which hit him on the right shoulder, causing a few bruises.

Finally, friends of the taverna owner and the Deputy Prime Minister and many locals who wanted to condemn the bullying, started gathering. Among them were many aldermen and Levandis, Mayor of Lavreotiki. The gathering of the SYRIZA thugs became thinner. At the same time, those who had gathered to prevent this type of events in the village were increasing. Then, the PASOK MPs and the vice president left.

The final episode took place a bit later at the exit of the village, where the bullies of SYRIZA had set a trap for the MPs of PASOK and stoned their cars.

It is worth mentioning that all this happened at a time when the Government have undertaken a series of moves to end the tension on the issue of Keratea. A characteristic step towards this solution was the beginning of the withdrawal of police forces. But once the first move was made, some rushed to burn the machines of the company which has undertaken the project. It is quite clear that SYRIZA wants to have a major rehearsal for conducting guerrilla warfare against the state in Keratea.

The systematic and organized recruitment by SYRIZA on the path of lawlessness, arbitrariness and intimidation of government and the ruling party supporters, inevitably leads to unpredictable reactions. It would be good for Mr. Tsipras and other living room revolutionaries to stop now before it is too late.

In an era of profound crisis, where the greatest challenge for parliamentarianism and Democracy is to demonstrate that they can provide the solution, SYRIZA has chosen tactics and approaches that are reminiscent of those made by the enemies of the parliamentary system of the Weimar Republic. Eventually, fascism and the Nazis won.»

What happened on Wednesday night

Α wild attack and yoghurt throwing at Thodoros Pagalos by Keratea residents took place on Wednesday night, according to a webpage (lavreotiki.com) run by people of the area. The vice president visited a tavern in Kalivia to dine with his wife and friends.

It all started when citizens who are against the creation of the sanitary landfill in their area walked in the tavern and started shouting the famous phrase «we did not spend it together».

Right away a MAT platoon arrived to help Pagalos escape. As he was exiting, the vice president tried to react and the citizens threw yoghurts at him.
