Erasing and rewriting the indictment list
The investigative committee is convening on matters of additions and deletions of names on the list of indictable former ministers involved in the Siemens scandal.

This recent scenario which, as it seems, will reflect the final decision faithfully, speaks of eight indictments: Six former ministers of the New Democracy Party and two from PASOK.

In detail, the former ministers for whom further investigation is required are: Mihalis Liapis, Christos Markogiannakis, Giorgos Voulgarakis, Viron Polidoras, Prokopis Pavlopoulos, Giorgos Alogoskoufis, all of whom are former ministers of the ND government. On the side of PASOK the indictable former ministers are Tasos Madelis and Christos Verelis.

Mr. Giannos Papantoniou, Nikos Christodoulakis, Akis Tsohatzopoulos, Giannis Papathanasiou and Dora Bakoyanni got away with only a few "scratches", and will only answer for political accountability.

Also, noteworthy is the fact that PASOK seems to have been in two minds on whether to indict Mr. Verelis, since the former minister presented a fair argument to the investigative committee, as well as in the evidence he submitted.

Nonetheless, PASOK seems to have put its trust in its legal advisors, who in turn stated that the OSE and OTE deals only pointed the finger at Ministers of Transportation. Differing opinions also existed on whether to indict Mr. Tsohatzopoulos or not, finally deciding not to, unless New Democracy can present any relevant evidence.
