Contributory fee for ERT is suspended

The joint ministerial decision by Yannis Stournaras and Simos Kedikoglou provides for the suspension of the contributory fee for ERT which is charged through PPC bills.

The new decision amends Article 5 of the respective No. 02/11.6.2013 as follows:

“Article No5

Contributory fee

The charge of the contributory fee for ERT, which is done through electricity bills according to Law 1730/1987, is suspended from 06.11.2013 and until the creation of a new provider of public service broadcasting."

The decision is also adding a paragraph to Article 4A on the special management of the transferred assets and liabilities as follows:

"In particular the rights of the abolished ERT, in accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 1 of this letter that have been transferred to the State and regard:

-       the transmission of broadcasting and operation of web sites of the abolished ERT until the creation of new public broadcaster

-       the frequencies of the abolished ERT that remain active until the establishment of the new broadcaster exercised by the Special Trustee on behalf of the Greek State."
