Samaras' command for speeding up mergers of public services

The ND parliamentary group will meet next Tuesday for the first time since the elections on June 17.

It was postponed due to the prime minister's surgery. Samaras will present the priorities and government policies in the context of the renegotiation of the memorandum. He is expected to elect a new secretary, a position for which the names of Thanassis Bouras and Kostas Gioulekas are heard. Manolis Kefaloyiannis, Makis Voridis and Sophia Voultepsi will be elected parliamentary representatives.

Samaras has ordered the speeding up of mergers of public services for the modernization of administration and the reduction of expenditure. One of the first steps is to create a single body of extroversion through the merger of TIF, HELEXPO and the Export Promotion Organisation. More than 20 closures and mergers of organizations must occur by the end of August. The ministry of Administrative Reform assures that there will be no layoffs of public employees, but only transfers and possibly redundancies. However, this remains to be accepted by the Troika, who will meet with the prime minister next week.

At the request of the government, CEO of the Privatization Fund Konstantinos Mitropoulos submitted his resignation to Finance minister John Stournaras. A few days ago Fund president Yannis Koukiadis had done the same.
