ND categorically rejects cuts to the 13th and 14th salaries

At the meeting of political leaders, ND president Antonis Samaras set his negotiating framework.

His staff explains that "Samaras is fighting for the 13th and 14th salaries, and against an increase of objective values. He does not accept most of what they are asking in terms of supplementary pensions and is discussing the issue of the minimum wage."

They also say that these issues prevent a deeper recession of the Greek economy. Of course there is the communication game that must be played since on Monday, they will have to explain the new measures to the Greek people. But ND insists that negotiations are taking place for the first time, suggesting that this is because of Samaras and hinting not only about the former government of PASOK, but also about the current prime minister, that they accepted whatever the Troika asked for.

Returning to the party headquarters on Syggrou Avenue, Samaras gave a brief statement on the climate of developments of the past few hours.

"We are negotiating for the first time. The country cannot afford more recession. I fight with all I have to prevent it."

To a relevant question he replied that negotiations will continue tomorrow, striking back against those who said that there is no room for negotiation after the Troika’s pressure.

His associates said that a significant part of today's meeting of the political leaders was spent on the issue of labour costs.

Immediately after the leaders’ meeting, Samaras convened a meeting with the participation of his close associates and the economic team of the party.
