The possibility to give a final vote of confidence was left open by Eva Kaili, explaining that after the withdrawal of the referendum by the PM, “the situation has changed and everything is possible”.
The MP referred to various comments made at her expense which have been heard lately, stating that “I know that there will be a game of impressions”.
“I have received many comments. Some were written by partners, supposedly because I am female. Their ethos and style characterizes them”.
Please note that according to witnesses, during yesterday’s meeting of the Parliamentary Team of PASOK, and while Ms. Kaili was complaining about the clumsy adjournment, a colleague from the back was heard shouting “sit down, you garter”.
At the same time, PASOK MP D. Lintzeris stated that his vote will depend on the speech of the PM.
“Tonight’s process is not voting for confidence in the government. The vote is for forming a government of national salvation”, stated Vasso Papandreou outside the House.

The PASOK MP from Messinia notes that the way out of the crisis requires a “government of national responsibility lead by a mutually acceptable person”, adding that the current government and the PM have “lost the confidence of the Greek society and the international community”.
Mimis Androulakis conveyed a clear message that he will not partake in today’s vote, which might turn out to be a “parody” if even the main protagonists of political life do not stop their pathetic “bluffs” and do not expressly and unequivocally clarify their intentions.
Mr. Dimitris Kremastinos states: “The vote of confidence towards the government comes after the PM’s assurance that within a few days, he will move to a government of national unity and will, at that point, contact the leader of the opposition”.
As far as the composition of the new government goes, Mr. Kremastinos stresses that this “should have PASOK’s Parliamentary Group’s acceptance, which must play a key role”.
Pythagoras Vardikos states in a letter that “The government will receive today’s vote of confidence because the country cannot be ungoverned tomorrow.
Tonia Antoniou stated: “If Papandreou is not clear that there will be initiatives to be taken, today, he will not receive a vote”.
Angela Gerekou states “Yes to today’s vote of confidence in the government, immediate action for a national unity government, voting on the loan agreement, sixth tranche release and setting a clear-cut timetable for national elections”.
If, however, she adds, the PM tries to get a coalition government going and, through no fault of his own, there is no success, then she proposes the PASOK PT’s support until the country’s European position is secured.
Mr. Voudouris states that today’s process does not mean “a trust in the current government, but will be a call for the immediate formation of a national unity government”…
