The talks between the shareholders began a fortnight ago and are still going on, while at this moment the two sides involved are discussing the final details of the deal.
The main goal of the emerging company is to compete with the leading Cosmote giant as from its formation on, the newborn star and the older Cosmote will be in control of almost 50% of the internal market each.
The merge will have a really dark side effect indeed, as more than 1000 people from both companies will lose their jobs within the next few months.
The deal will be sealed by Christmas at the latest as it also needs the green light from the Hellenic and European Competition Commissions.
The amount of money that Vodafone has to pay for the buyout will be more than 1 billion euros.
