“I will quit politics…if my party doesn't make it to parliament”
Dora Bacoyannis’ surpising appeal-threat brings to mind the dilemma used by Costis Stefanopoulos - elected MP for Athens in the 1989 elections while continuing as president of DIΑΝΑ until it disbanded in June 1994. Between 1995 and 2005, he served as President of the Republic.

The Head of Democratic Alliance party supported that her party will prove to be the great surprise of the next election battle in the country; however, she stressed that she would abandon politics if her party doesn't get elected to parliament.

During a televised interview with a local channel, Bacoyannis said there is no reason for the country to go to elections at this moment, yet noted that in Greece anything is possible.

Moreover, speaking about last week’s outcome in Brussels, she underlined that results were positive for Greece, but the government has been slow in making vital decisions for the country over the past year. In her opinion, the only exit from the crisis would be to attract foreign investors to a more stable - Greek - financial ground.

Bacoyannis did not rule out the possibility of allying with another party under the condition that they agree on common principles.
