PM Giorgos Papandreou had a tele-conference with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu today, after his initiative.
The two PMs talked about the next steps in the process for the strengthening of bilateral relations, which began at a fast pace last summer, and agreed to create a Joint Ministerial Council of Cooperation under their leadership and with the participation of ministers from both countries, aiming at deepening their cooperation in certain areas.
The first meeting of this new transnational institution is planned to take place within the next two months and for this purpose, the two PM’s tasked the respective ministers of Foreign Affairs, Dimitris Droutsas and Avigdor Lieberman, who is visiting Athens tomorrow, to make the necessary preparations.
