The Summit and Papachristos make an explosive mix
The Summit and Papachristos make an explosive mix
Great concern at Maximou for possible negative news from Brussels, with inter-party turmoil in the background
UPD:
Ministers and members of PASOK are stunned while watching the developments, as the unexpected differentiation of the «Papandrean» minister Vangelis Papachristos as to labor regulations, and the narrow margins for good news from the Brussels summit, have burdened the climate in the government.
Officials in Maximou worry about two possible negative developments, which might create an explosive mixture, able to derail planning for the next crucial period. In other words, to have on one hand the dramatic turnovers in the labor issue, which have made a lot of MPs angry – even though they voted for the multi-bill – and on the other the bad news from Brussels that Germany insists on private participation in the permanent support mechanism.
In such a case the estimation is that a part of the international markets will bank on the fact that Greece will be driven into a controlled bankruptcy, which would mean that all the sacrifices made by Greek citizens and the enforced structural changes will be to no avail.
The government's fear is that these developments will create uncontrollable reactions in PASOK, but in the Greek society as well.
In this regard, the government is monitoring the developments of the next days, while senior members recommend corrective actions immediately after the holidays, especially towards the appeasement of MPs
