Joaquin Almunia: Greece will manage to exit the crisis
“The road ahead is still long and far from easy. Exiting from this crisis was always going to be more like a marathon than a sprint”
Vice President of the European Commission responsible for Competition policy, Joaquin Almunia, wished good luck to the country's return to the internation markets and stressed that Greece has followed the right path and will manage to exit from the crisis.
Mr Almunia said: “I remember when the debt crisis begun. Since then, Greece has introduced many reforms, but the race is not over yet. The road ahead is still long and far from easy. Exiting from this crisis was always going to be more like a marathon than a sprint. "
He also recommended that the government should not loose “the finish line” and expressed his satisfaction on the difficult tasks processed by the Competition Commission and forecast that future growth in Europe will come from digital services, telecommunications, energy and technology.
