PASOK and DIMAR are “leaving” while Elia is coming…
Political fermentations in full swing at the Center-Left space - The movement of the “58”, reactions from PASOK, Psarianos, Lykoudis and Andreas Papadopoulos
Opinion polls that show the percentages of PASOK and Democrativ Left cumulatively not exceeding 10%, the continuous precipitation of the political influence of the two parties, the failure of the experiment of Venizelos and Kouvelis’ concurrence in Samaras’ government and the belief of many members who identify themselves as "Center-Left" on the need to create a new space that will fill the gap between ND and SYRIZA, are the catalysts in developments to what some people want to identify as the Greek “Olive” following the standards of the Italian "Olive Tree."
The attempt to create a coalition to incorporate smaller parties placed at the center and to the left, along with collectives such as the so-called "58" or members who have chosen to not be hosted by a political party is in full swing. A milestone for decisions will be set at the elections of May 25.
Even companions of Evangelos Venizelos are afraid that PASOK may not elect an MEP, a scenario that they believe will bring out their political party’s utmost limits.
The most likely scenario for DIMAR at this point seems to be the breakup. Kouvelis applies a political game that his companions believe to be leading to a dead-end and accuse him of acting unilaterally.
Spyros Lykoudis (former DIMAR secretary), Grigoris Psarianos (MP) and Andreas Papadopoulos (journalist, former representative of the party who was considered as Kouvelis’ prodigy) are looking more towards the new space they are waiting to be born from the womb of the “58” and less towards the inside of DIMAR.
The new landscape of the Center-Left was presented Tuesday evening at Peristeri. Professor Yiannis Voulgaris, representative and informal leader of the “58”, opened his arms to Lykoudis, Psarianos and Papadopoulos of DIMAR.

PASOK Secretary Nikos Androulakis, press representative Ulysses Konstantinopoulos and members Christos Protopapas and Athena Dretta, listened to Voulgaris heralding the end of PASOK. "This gathering is under a new name that will soon have a new symbol and wants to have many new faces soon." As he pointed out this Movement is aimed at those who say "neither ND nor SYRIZA."
