Schauble is against the easing of reforms in Greece
The German FINMIN insists on the doctrine of austerity while the Greek Prime Minister is seeking political support from Merkel
"The successes we see in the Eurozone, and also in Greece, are proving that we are on the right track. For this we need to prevent the mistake to ease our efforts just because of the first positive results," German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said, remaining faithful to the doctrine of austerity and harsh measures, while Antonis Samaras is meeting with Angela Merkel.
Speaking on the SWR radio station, Schaeuble said that Athens should not expect a change in Berlin’s attitude and that "Greece should perceive this as an assurance that she is the right path and therefore must adhere to it to get results."
He added that Germany is willing to help Greece, but Greece must comply with all its agreed commitments in exchange for the international bailouts.
