Christos Pappas turned himself in using the Nazi salute
"The truth will shine, nationalism will win. I am absolutely free, we are on a legal political struggle and we will return" - "Long live the Golden Dawn," he shouted in front of cameras, entering the building of the Police Headquarters
The sixth MP of the Golden Dawn for who was evading arrest turned himself in today in the building of the Police Headquarters in Alexandras Avenue.
He is the parliamentary party spokesman Christos Pappas who shortly after 1 pm went to the Headquarters building calling Nikos Michaloliakos as their leader and saying to reporters that the government "is on an unprecedented political persecution using Justice as an excuse, the independent justice for some. The truth will shine, nationalism will win. The Greek people must not bend their heads. I am absolutely free, we are on a legal political struggle and we will return. The Golden Dawn does not bend! Golden Dawn forever."
And raising his hand in the famous Nazi salute shouted, "long live the Golden Dawn."
For now, Christos Pappas is being held at the offices of the Counterterrorism Unit. The procedure to be followed for the alleged deputy leader of the Golden Dawn is the same as for the other arrested MPs and then he will probably be detained until his plea.
What is still unknown, however, and of great concern to the authorities, is what Christos Pappas did during the past 24 hours and more, during which he was evading arrest.
