Government ultimatum to end Metro strike
The clash between the Greek government and workers in transportation, who are still on strike despite the court ruling that the srikes are illegal, has reached new extremes.

The clash between the Greek government and workers in transportation, who are still on strike despite the court ruling that the srikes are illegal, has reached new extremes.
Speaking on the Vima FM radio station, government spokesman Simos Kedikoglou said that "the leaders of the strikes will have to comply with the court orders by tomorrow otherwise they will face the legal consequences. The legislation provides for what should happen to those leading the strikes."
Earlier, and in the face of potential requisition, transport workers said they would not budge and announced they would answer "with their own war to the war of the government."
"There will have a blackout in transportation if the government proceeds to requisition and this is not a threat," union representative Christos Koukis said.
Metro trains are docked today for the 7th consecutive day, while workers in the electrical rail and tram are on work stoppages from 12 pm to 4 pm.
