SYRIZA is looking for anti-memorandum allies…
SYRIZA is reconfiguring its strategy of alliances and openings to forces of anti-memorandum logic, considering that the end of Samaras’ government is a matter of time. It believes that the marginal majority of the coalition in parliament can be lost very quickly due to the implementation of the harsh new measures. Also, neither the Europeans have confidence in the prime minister anymore in terms of controlling the political game in Greece, and that is why they are pressing with delays and payment conditions for the disbursement of the tranche in order to ensure greater guarantees for the implementation of the measures.

SYRIZA is trying to foster the notion that it can find alliances and thus answer the problem of governance in the country when the time comes, as it is reasonably difficult to speak of political autonomy right now.

The rapid formalization of cooperation with independent MP Yannis Michelogiannakis, who left DIMAR, had this purpose as well, to demonstrate that SYRIZA has open doors and can achieve synergies. The pressure on DIMAR forces will continue as Fotis Kouvelis’ party will keep on being in a more difficult position, especially if assigned more active participation in Samaras’ government. It has not gone unnoticed that about half of the DIMAR MPs have already diversified themselves from the center line of the party in parliament regarding various issues, while SYRIZA sees that the "right wing" of DIMAR will sooner or later deal a blow against Kouvelis’ stance.

SYRIZA will put pressure on PASOK forces too, provided that they have recorded strong anti-memorandum presences. These forces are scattered for now and are outside the formal and organized PASOK, while the collaboration will be for demarcated partnerships and not integrations along the lines of SYRIZA.

In contrast, the climate in the relations between SYRIZA and KKE is constantly worsening, especially since Aleka Papariga’s attack on SYRIZA, about the "lobby of the drachma" and her identification with the rhetoric of the government, have shattered even the last illusions that KKE can help in the effort to overthrow the current correlations. SYRIZA will now have an open front and conflict with the Communist Party’s leadership, separating it as much as it can from the base of the party, but without any kind of hope for cooperation with the Papariga group, which is believed to play a "systemic game."
