Large Greek companies demand increase in product prices

Some companies do not seem to care about the crisis hurting the average Greek family and are pushing for increases in prices while the economy sinks into daily doubt.

Specifically, valid information of protothema.gr reports that companies such as the Fillipou family “Elbisco” (Yiannis and Kiriakos Phillipou) are demanding a retail increase of 15% despite a significant reduction of Greek household income.

These are increases which are unjustified due to the labor costs which both companies have incurred and because they cannot be accepted in a devastated market.

At the same time, it is not only the two known food industries which want increases but also others, such as Coca Cola 3E, which demands increases of about 5%.

The round of increases will obviously not stop here, since others - even worse, Greek - companies want increases, arguing about the continued increase in production costs due to taxes imposed on the entire “chain”.
