ND 18.87%, SYRIZA 16.77%, PASOK 13.19%

From the vote of the Greek people in the national elections emerges a previously unthinkable political scene. The bipartisanship not only completed its long course after the Junta, but was literally crushed.
 
ND became the top political force as expected, but its percentage is below 20%, much lower than any it had achieved so far.
 
SYRIZA emerged as the second party with a rate that exceeds 16%, while PASOK fell to 13%, reminiscent of 1974 and the first appearance of Andreas Papandreou as party leader in the political history of the country.
 
Undoubtedly the winners of the evening include Panos Kammenos with the Independent Greeks, who achieved a double-digit rate, and the far-right Golden Dawn coming to parliament with more than 20 MPs, a development that troubles Europe too.
 
Instead, the Communist Party is close to 8.5%, while it expected a 2-digit percentage. The presence of Democratic Left maybe less than the expected one, but it may play an important role in the political developments of the coming days.
 
Parliamentary entry for LAOS and the Ecologists-Greens was decided in the details, the percentage of the latter being significantly higher than in the polls. Dora Bakoyannis’ Democratic Alliance did not make into parliament with a small margin.
