Venizelos: The people will decide based on their historical conscience

“We truly hope that the Greeks will decide based on their historical conscience and having taken into account everything within a spectrum of calm, based on logic and filled with hope and optimism for the future” underlined PASOK head Evangelos Venizelos upon exiting the election centre.

“In Greece we do not have two-round elections, one used as a pressure valve and the second destined to be a decision round” stressed Venizelos, wishing to show how crucial this day is.
 
“Today is the most critical day for the country concerning its course, its image, after 1974. The Greek citizens know that today we decide… We talked to the people and we were honest, telling nothing but the truth. People fully know what goes on, the problems, the dangers, the perspectives. The people’s vote obviously concerns us and we are expecting their decision with total democratic respect”.

This day’s ballot, today’s decision, concerns citizens themselves, their families, their children, their future. The outcome will determine the way we will live and the road the country will follow.

Many standing outside the election centre where Venizelos voted began applauding while, during his statements to the press, others chanted slogans against him from nearby houses and balconies.
