"I will not form a government with ND so that the Left can mock us"

Recognizing the risk of the view that there will be a ND-PASOK government after the elections dominating, Evangelos Venizelos has made a series of clarifications:

There is no agreement or understanding between PASOK and New Democracy. If the polls estimates about the election outcome are reflected in the ballots, the country will be ungovernable, because not only is a parliament majority needed , ie more than 151 MPs, but also a majority in the electorate, a clear mandate.
“The people must tell us very clearly, with a comfortable majority, what they want. We state that PASOK is not a given, don’t think that PASOK will try to form a government with New Democracy and the rest of the parties will become demagogues, populists and rubbing their hands together because the fools who will bear the cross of martyrdom have been found.

“Everyone must assume their responsibility. When I say everyone, I mean from the left to the right, the whole spectrum”, stated Venizelos. With that view as a starting point, he emphasized that “the forces of the left must decide what they want to do. Will they participate and help in a progressive direction? Mr. Kouvelis and Mr. Tsipras and Syriza must face reality, what they really are: A party which organizes happenings, which prevents PASOK organizations from carrying out rallies”?

“It is a party where the basic executives like Mr. Lafazanis, the parliamentary representative, are proponents of the return to the drachma?" he continued, “or are they a radical but European force”, he wondered.
