Mainly sunny weather, possibly overcast skies

Mild and pleasant weather is expected for most of Greece in the beginning of this week, and on Monday in particular. A big and strong front of high pressure remains the dominant weather feature, as it stretches from the Iberian Peninsula to the Mediterranean Sea, and although it pushes the moisture away we will see rain showers triggered by a low pressure system spinning over the central, western and northern parts of the country.

In Athens the weather will be slightly windy but sunny, with highs in the upper 27s and lows at 18C. During the noon and afternoon hours there will be cloudy patches and possibly light showers in the west and north of the capital.

In Thessaloniki the phenomena will be more or less the same but under slightly heavier skies. Highs will hover around 26C with lower in mid-teens (15C).

Likewise, the rest of the country should expect overcast skies and possible light showers in the afternoon hours. Significant rain and thunderstorms are not anticipated.
