They slammed the doors on the Troika

Finance ministry employees that have gathered since early in the morning, are planning on preventing the Troika from entering the building.

Protesting about the government’s plans for redundancy and wage cuts, they warn they will remain there for 48hrs.

And just before 10, an employee of the Troika team tried to enter he was booed and taken away from the entrance.

Deputy director of ADEDY Ilias Vrettakos, who was outside the ministry, said: “We have symbolically blocked several ministries. But the finance ministry has a special meaning, since no Greek employee of the ministry wants to serve the Troika technocrats”.

Just after 12pm employees ended the blockades at the ministry of labour and the General Accounting Office, where an employee meeting is taking place.

In the rest of the ministries and departments under occupation, the protests will continue until the end of the shift, while there was a proposal to prolong them, so that they could include the cabinet meeting.

It should be noted that ADEDY will have a protest rally at Klafthmonos Square at 6pm. Later on at Syntagma POSPERT, along with unions from public entities, is putting on a live concert with the participation of several famous artists.

Protests will continue as GSEE and ADEDY have scheduled 24hr strikes on October 5 and 19.
