Credit watchdog Teiresias S.A. shows increase in bad checks
Bounced checks in July 2011 reached 392.9 million euros in the local market, an increase of 133.6% from the previous month. In relation to July 2010, this kind of checks, in terms of value in euros, was up 132.26%.

As the market and credit watchdog Teiresias S.A., 53% of the total number of hot checks in July 2011 corresponds to 1% of the overall circulation of checks.
Between January and July 2011, bounced checks reached 111,290 in number, at a value of 1.3 billion euros.
