Libya, us and the mysteries!

The mysteries around the ever-closer ties between Greece and Libya are multiplying.

After yesterday's call from Muammar Gaddafi to the Greek Prime Minister Giorgos Papandreou and the flight of the Libyan VIP aircraft in the Athens FIR, now comes a meeting of the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Dimitris Dollis with an assigned Libyan envoy. At the same time, the Foreign Affairs ministry made it clear that there wouldn’t be any press statements.

Please note that at noon on Wednesday the governmental Libyan DA-900 Falcon passed through the Athens FIR for a few minutes, but is impossible to cross-reference whether any members of Muammar Gaddafi's family were onboard the aircraft

Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Dollis will meet with the Libyan envoy Mohamed Tahir Siala tomorrow, March 10, at 10 am in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Secretary General of the ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador I -A. Zepos, will be joining the meeting.

The meeting will take place after the relevant consultation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs D. Droutsas with the head of the EU for foreign policy and citizen security, Catherine Ashton, ahead of the special meeting of the Council for Foreign Affairs that will be held tomorrow.
