The whole thing began with a tip that reached us from the DEA in the American embassy. Right away and under prosecutorial order the phones of the suspects were bugged. So in four months a lot of conversations between the dealers and the clients were recorded; dozens of names came up, including many famous Athenians, people above any suspicion…
As the investigation showed, two people are the brains of the operation, well-known Athenians who are active in the car trade and real estate sectors. There are five more accomplices, three from Astros in Kynouria, one French and one Canadian, while two customers were arrested during an exchange.

The deals were made abroad
The big deals of the two Greeks were done abroad (Holland, Italy and Germany) and the drugs reached our country stuffed in Porsche spare parts to be delivered to the high society of Athens. The cars were confiscated too, and as the investigation showed one of them was reported stolen so that the owner could receive the insurance.
The officers found and seized:
* 2,392kg of cocaine
* 18,444kg of unprocessed cannabis of hydroponic cultivation
* 6,895 ecstasy pills
* 2kg of explosives
* 2 detonators
* 1,10cm of slow burning fuse
* an M16 weapon
* two 9mm’s
* 75 bullets for the 9mm’s
* 251.270 euros, 10.000 US dollars, bank passbooks totaling 38.339 euros, 56.358,64 Canadian dollars, 83.351 US dollars and 18 credit cards from foreign and domestic banks
* seven precision scales
* five private cars
* three motorbikes
* one fake Greek passport
* one fake international drivers’ license
* one fake identity card
* 24 mobile phones
