Dismissals in the Public Sector would only be fair!
The government isdeclaring on all fronts that under no circumstances will there be any sort of dismissals in the Public Sector, but that is not the case for Minister Christos Pamboukis, who seems to be differentiating himself from the government line.
The government is declaring on all fronts that under no circumstances will there be any sort of dismissals in the Public Sector, but that is not the case for Minister Christos Pamboukis, who seems to be differentiating himself from the government line.
His statements in the magazine Epikera today have caused a ruckus, as he characteristically said:
«We need to increase the level of services, size and quality in the public sector. If in order to achieve that we have to dismiss people, this will be the cost of hoping for a better future. And it will only be fair for the rest of the working people in Greece. The burden of years of corruption and bad practice is shouldered by every single one of us and has now become unbearable.”
He also added that the the deficit re-calculation is not a choice for the government, revealing however that “many interests globally have bet on the opposite”.
In the same magazine, albeit in a diffrent tone, the general Secretary of the National Committee of PASOK Mr. Karhimakis stated that there will not be any dismissals in the public sector, as the Prime Minister has stated.
