Up to 2 wages off per year!

“Guillotine” for employees working under special circumstances business contracts.

We have learned to cope with many misfortunes, due to the depression and the Memorandum, but now it seems that we must get used to the idea of the “special circumstances business contract” which, according to all indications, translates to a 12% income cut compared to the current contracts.  

What are the implications for workers the legislation expected to be included in the draft law by the ministry of Labor, in case of the implementation of the special circumstances business contract instead of the sectoral contract? Practically, an income cut equivalent to 2 wages per year!

More specifically:

* Commercial workers will receive 795 instead of 903 euros per year;  that is a 108-euro cut per month and a 1512-euro cut per year.
* Ferry company workers will receive1118 instead of 1270 euros per month, a reduction of 152 euros per month and 2128 euros per year.
* Bank employees will get 880 instead of 1000 euros per month, which means they’re down 120 euros per month and 1680 euros per year.

The developments with the business contracts and the contacts of GSEE president Yannis Panagopoulos with employers led to tensions last Saturday, during the meeting of the confederation, which led to the withdrawal of DAKE president Vagelis Bouzoulas and Autonomous Intervention Giorgos Gavrilis.

Mr Panagopoulos, however, repeated that there is no agreement with the employers except on the issue of the extension of contracts to companies that are not represented by a union.

According to Mr Panagopoulos, business contracts with lower wages can only be signed in cases where there is a risk of job loss.
