Police officers also involved in women trafficking scandal
Two police offices, among other individuals, are involved in the scandal of corruption and trafficking of women from Russia to Greece which has been exposed after many months of extensive investigation.

Two police offices, among other individuals, are involved in the scandal of corruption and trafficking of women from Russia to Greece which has been exposed after many months of extensive investigation.
The police has arrested in total 51 persons, 19 of which are part of a bigger illegal trafficking organization; the rest have been charged with other minor offences.
Furthermore, 11 other persons both from Greece and abroad have been implicated and are wanted by the Greek authorities and Interpol. The police officers are accused of obstructing justice since they helped by providing fake work permits to the women the traffickers were abusing.
The operation that had the undercover name “Siberia” looked into 180 files of suspects, among them 4 women who have been acquitted since they were also victims of the traffickers.
