13 year old killed in amusement park

A family tragedy took place in a Greek funpark at Elliniko! A 13 year old boy was killed, while his 9 year old sister is critically injured. The children were reportedly playing within the inflatable balls in a pool. Strong winds, however, lifted them and dragged them into adjacent rocks.

The reaction of those attending the amusement park was immediate. According to information from the ambulance service, they received at least three calls around 15:50 to 15:52. The ambulance arrived on scene at 16:01.

The two children were taken to hospital "Paidon". The 13 year old was intubated by rescuers but had suffered serious head injuries. According to hostpital doctors, the boy was unconscious and resuscitation efforts began immediately, but to no avail. His sister was introduced immediately into the ICU where she was diagnosed with a severe lung contusion.

The state of the 9 year-old is considered critical.

There have already been three arrests of the amusement park officials who are being detained in the Elliniko precinct.
