Trial exit to the bond markets for Greece in the first half of 2014
Aiming at pumping 1.5-2 billion euros, Reuters cites Greek MOF top official
Speaking to Reuters news agency, a top Finance Ministry official spoke of a potential trial exit to the markets in the first half of 2014 with five-year bonds.
According to the same source the goal is to raise 1.5-2 billion euros in the first attempt after a four-year blockade from the bond markets.
The Greek government had initially planned this exit for the second half of the year, but leans on the faster issuance after the fall of the interest bond rate. The final decision has not yet been taken, the same source said.
"We might reach the markets in the first half of 2014 but we have not yet made the final decision. It will be a small version of about 1.5-2 billion euros probably for five-year bonds," he told Reuters agency.
