Civil servants: Only 25% can excels in its rating
Until now 100% of employees took the highest score
A bill of the Ministry of Administrative Reform which is expected to come for public consultation today Wednesday brings cuts to the "excelling" of civil servants.
According to "Ta Nea" newspaper, the forwarded settings are seeking to stop the phenomenon where almost all staff is rated with honors at the annual evaluation reports so that only 25% of employees of each directorate can collect the maximum of points.
The 60% of civil servants can receive an interim rating, while 15% of employees will record the lowest performance.
The evaluation process will be crucial in the coming months, as the civil servants that will have the lowest scores in the reports are more likely to enter the availability/mobility programs or even leave the service of the public sector.
How the quota will be shared is to be decided by the heads of each general directorate, which means that employees will not be evaluated in each section separately, but overall in each service.
The aim of this provision is to stop staff members from choosing to move on to services with a smaller workload.
