Mitsotakis: We will check those who pulled over 100.000 euros abroad
Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis asked Wednesday for an audit on all the assets of public employees who from 2009 onwards sent abroad remittances of more than 100,000 euros.

In a letter to the Secretary of the Auditors-Inspectors of Public Administration (SEEDD) Mitsotakis asked to check under priority the employees who are already being audited for possible illegal actions and behaviors or there is evidence against them for acquisition of resources not justified by legitimate and clear incomes.

According to the minister, "it is the duty of the State to the whole of society to thoroughly check the public employees who chose to send large sums of money to foreign credit institutions."

Mitsotakis says the audit will establish whether these amounts can be justified by the overall asset condition of the employees. "The times when everyone could do whatever they wanted have long been gone and everyone must realize it."
