From 17.4 billion euros to 18.3 billion euros exports - Imports declined from 32.8 billion euros to 31.2 billion euros

In its new report released today from Brussels Eurostat records reduction of the Greek trade deficit and increase of the country’s exports.

In particular, according to Eurostat, the trade deficit of Greece declined from 15.4 billion euros last year, to 12.9 billion euros. In the first eight months of 2013 compared to the same period of 2012, Greek exports increased by 5%, from 17.4 billion euros to 18.3 billion, while imports declined 5%, from 32.8 billion euros to 31.2 billion.

As for the other EU countries, Germany has the highest trade surplus with 127.8 billion euros, followed by the Netherlands with 36 billion and Ireland with 25.3 billion. The highest trade deficit was in France with 50.1 billion euros, followed by the UK with 44.5 billion and Greece 12.9 billion.
