Vroutsis: No reduction in any pension
"We will not reduce any pension. But that does not mean we will not make interventions. The new system ensures that future generations will get both a supplementary pension and a lump sum," Labour Minister Yannis Vroutsis told the morning broadcast of SKAI.

Vroutsis added that the insurance system still needs tidying as it is fragmented into 92 different sectors. "There are still some shortcomings and pathologies of the past. We are making efforts at all levels with checks and financial aid efforts so that pensions will be given safely."

Regarding the lump sum, Vroutsis said it is being paid regularity and at high speed.

He also said that there will be no new debt arrangements to pension funds and that the level of participation in the setting is not high.

Checks for undeclared work

The ministry will proceed with inspections throughout the country to combat undeclared work, Vroutsis added. "We will not leave a single corner of the country. Everyone must understand, especially employers, that by behaving as if nothing has changed in the country they undermine their own viability," Vroutsis said.
