From Thursday morning today a large police operation is underway with the assistance of a Police helicopter. The investigations focus on the forest area of Pangaion as the Hellenic Police located there the most recent traces of young Christina were.
According to Kavala police chief Avraam Koskeridis who spoke at enet.gr, the traces of the 13-year-old were found Monday afternoon in Eleftheres, where she arrived traveling alone from Athens by bus.
He believes her aim was to meet a man of Albanian origin and ten years older than her, whom she had met a year ago in Athens.
Detecting Christina’s mark came via activation of the mobile's card and the authorities immediately informed her family.
"If they are still in the area, in the woods, we believe we will find them today. Unless they have come out on the public road and have left for somewhere else," Koskeridis said.
